On 11/10/2019, the Edison Branch of AYLUS, Victoria He, Varsha and Li Zhang went to the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home to help transport veterans to and from the main event of the day: celebrating Veterans Day. After taking the veterans to the town square, volunteers spread around, enjoying the musical group’s songs and dancing with veterans. The show was elaborate and interesting, with people being brought out in costume and veterans volunteering to sing along to some of the musicians’ songs. After a while, cake was brought out and distributed, and the musicians played their final songs. They were given rousing applause by everyone in attendance and many of the veterans went up to thank them before being transported back to their rooms. All in all, it was an entertaining Sunday afternoon with festivities that brightened everyone’s day.
