On Friday November 8th, member of the East Cobb Branch, Cynthia Ruan, tutored a second grader through FaceTime. Because the family wanted to avoid driving through traffic the student and tutor worked together through FaceTime.
The tutor worked with the student on missed questions from school work relating reading comprehension and arithmetic. The tutor reviewed reading passages and questions, and the tutor gave tips on improving reading skills. The tutor also worked on multiplication and division problems. The tutor also gave some extra worksheets for the student to practice with.
The tutor felt joyed to be able to help the student. The tutor previously worked with the student during the summer, and the student requested that she would be with the same tutor again. The tutor was happy to teach the student, and the tutor was glad that the tutoring helped the student improve.
This is a new try to tutor the student remotely, the tutoring meets the request from the student and her family, also aligned with tutor’s schedule. We will expand the Face Time tutoring to those with similar situation.
Attendance: Cynthia Ruan (1 hour)
