On May 18, 2019 from 3:30 to 5:30pm, AYLUS Pearland partnered with the Pearland Chinese School to host the 3rd Annual High School Life and College Applications Seminar. Parents and current students were educated on the different aspects of high school and the process of writing application and the preparation needed for high achievement in college.
AYLUS invited six successful high school graduates to speak about their experiences and pass their knowledge to the younger generation. Helen Wang of Harvard, Aayush Dave of UC Berkeley, Frank Li of the University of Pennsylvania, Hans Wang of UT Austin Honors, Alex Albert of Cornell and Bovey Liu of Yale all voiced their own memories and advice.
AYLUS members Janie Chen, Andy Gu, Benjamin Liang and Kate Liu helped host the night’s forum by giving each of the graduates’ introductions and asking them questions. Additionally, the audience was given the chance to ask the graduates questions that were unspoken allowing everyone’s concerns and comments to be heard.
The goal of this panel was for all students and parents to receive more information about the high school and college process. Ultimately, this year’s forum was a success with this goal being accomplished.
