2. At the East Cobb Library
On February 9, 2019, the East Cobb Branch of AYLUS held a free tutoring program at East Cobb Library for students’ grades K to 8th. The tutoring lasted two hours and was open to all students. Many people came in with math and reading related schoolwork for tutors to help the student in the subjects he/she is struggling with or to reinforce curriculum subjects.
At East Cobb Library we has six students came. Our tutors were paired one-on-one with each of the students, so kids were able to have direct conversations. We wanted the students to share the homework they were having trouble on. The tutors read with the students and walk them through the steps of solving problems. They encourage the students and socialize with them while going over incorrect answers on tests, homework sheets, workbook pages, or reading passages.
The tutoring session is held on Saturdays from 2:30 to 4:30 in the afternoon every week by the East Cobb Branch of AYLUS. Tutors are high school students that are part of the branch. Sessions are held at East Cobb Library are open to all students in elementary and middle school.
