East Cobb Branch Held Youth Tutoring Program III

On September 29th, the East Cobb Branch of AYLUS held another tutoring session at the East Cobb Library. While only two students showed up, this allowed for the tutors to spend more time with them and explain concepts in a variety of subjects.

A total of four tutors were present to help the students in different materials, notably math and reading. When the students demonstrated mastery of such materials, the tutors were able to move on to more advanced subjects, even beyond the current lessons that the students’ teachers may have been teaching at the time.

With the age range of the students being from late elementary school to middle school, the tutors could explain more detailed concepts in a comfortable manner. Thus, they were able to work at a quick, yet efficient rate.

The East Cobb Branch holds tutoring through the East Cobb Youth Tutoring program, operating in the East Cobb Library weekly; the tutors interact with their students in a positive manner and can connect to them academically and personally. Young students are able to gather information in a relatively close location, and the tutoring program opens them up to new perspectives each visit.

Attendance: Grace Shen (2 hrs), Jonathan Wang (1 hr), David Qu (1 hr), Maxwell Jiang (2 hrs)
