On August 25th, 2018, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 40th Computer for Kids Lab, repairing and cleaning electronic devices in order to prepare them to send to children of low-income families. This helps the kids achieve academic success through possible access to technology.
The participants did the following:
- 56 Computers Prepped for Distribution – Hard Drives & RAM Checked
So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab started:
- Diagnosed, repaired, tested, or sleeved 3,791 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
- Tested and repaired 141 LCD monitors
- Diagnosed, tested, wiped, counted, and cloned 3,192 hard drives
- Wrapped/folded, sorted, and packed 7,704 mice, and power cords/adaptors
- Tested and Bagged 125 Speakers
