Columbus Branch Participated in Helping with the Success of the Asian Festival on May 26-27, 2018

Volunteers part of the A.Y.L.U.S Columbus branch participated in helping with the success of the Asian Festival on May 26-27, 2018. Asian Festival began in 1995 and has since continued to grow annually, with over 100,000 visitors, promoting the importance of cultural diversity in building a vibrant, prosperous and healthy community.
The festival includes performances that reflect the tradition of various Asian countries. A wide range of other activities also teach Asian cultures in an engaging way. Of course some activities were included just for the sake of fun as well. Michelle Lee, Erica Shen, June Ni and Angelika-Lili Susanto operated the face painting stand and undoubtedly contributed to an unforgettable experience for the children that visited.
This year, volunteers Xin Chen, Michelle Zong, Eric Liu, Jicheng Zhu, Amy Xuan, Eileen Liang, Jason Guo, Michelle Lin, Gavin Ni, and Heidi Gui dedicated Saturday and Sunday to collect the opinions of Asian festival participants in order to improve the increasingly popular festival. A total of 1,000 completed surveys were taken by a variety of people with different ethnicities and ages to incorporate the thoughts of all generations and residents of the community. Overall, everyone that was asked to fill out a survey was very enthusiastic in doing so. Hopefully, the hours spent by the volunteers will be useful in creating an even more amazing festival in the future.
