On March 16, 2018, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 22nd Computer for Kids Lab to repair computers and give them to children of low-income families to help kids achieve academic success through technology.
The students tested, repaired, and cleaned 21 tablets and 19 monitors. They sorted, cleaned, wrapped, and boxed 220 power adaptors for computer distribution.
So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab started:
- Diagnosed, repaired, and tested 3,382 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
- Tested and repaired 1,316 LCD monitors
- Diagnosed and tested 426 hard drives
- Boxed 150 netbooks for distribution
- Wrapped/folded, sorted, and packed 9,428 mice, and power cords/adaptors
All the laptops/netbooks/notebooks will be donated to children of needed families so they can have a computer to work at home.
