On March 11, 2018, the AYLUS Columbus Branch volunteered at the Ohio Contemporary Chinese School’s annual lantern festival. Volunteers included Derek Han, Xin Chen, Ji Chung Zhu, Aidan Li, Michelle Lee, Gavin Ni, Alice Nie, and Kevin Wang. The kids worked in the 2PM-8PM range, helping in all sorts of activities. Some worked in the face painting station, helping to paint the kids’ faces with beautiful designs. Others help set up various game stations, which included bowling, corn hole, and other fun games. They ran the stations, handing out tickets to the winners. The prize and food areas were also all run by volunteers, where they took kids’ tickets in exchange for toys and such, and sold food packages. At the end, everyone helped take down everything and cleaned up the building. The kids worked very diligently, and were praised by many parents.
