On Saturday, August 30th, the Aylus Great Neck Branch hosted an AAPI event at the Great Neck Library. Nathan Li, Victoria Xu and Andrew Li started with reading children’s stories: Soy Sauce by Laura Lee, Amy Wu and the Ribbon Dance by Kat Zhang, and Hundred Years of Happiness by Thanhhà Lai. Nathan Li, Andrew Li, and Jaden Chen then did arts and crafts with the children like origami, while Rainie Cheng and Victoria Xu taught other children crochet starting with a crocheted ball. When the event was finished the volunteers and children started working together to clean up the room.
