AYLUS Great Neck Branch Join the Pollinator Meadow(06/21/2025)(38th) On Saturday, June 21,from 9:00 to 11:00 am AYLUS volunteers participated in the Sunken Meadow State park. The then purpose of the activity is to help remove Mugwort(a kind of weed),to let the other plant grow greater. This not only makes the environment better, but also exercise our hands-on ability and understanding of plant varieties during the weeding process. This activity is very suitable for teenagers. Before weeding, staff member—-Michael, helped us understand the shape name and removal methods of weeds, which allowed volunteers to understand the type and shapes of plants. When we are weeding, many tools are needed, such as shovels, rakes, etc, which exercise our hands-on and coordination abilities and also require a lot of skills and strength for example were reading. You can’t also remove the leaves. You have to dig out the entire route, which is a very tiring. These Technologies can be applied to daily life, such as clearing weeds in your yard.
