In the first week of April, AYLUS Plano member Alex Tianlu Zhou led a beading bracelet workshop focused on encouraging independent creativity through hands-on craft. Each volunteer worked individually on their own design rather than co-creating shared pieces. The primary materials used were polished stone beads in various colors, which were threaded to create simple yet elegant bracelets.
Alex oversaw the entire session and personally worked with beads in warm, earthy tones—such as amber, deep red, and gold—creating samples that emphasized balance and visual contrast. Daniel Wang focused on assembling bracelets with darker shades like onyx black and forest green, while Jenny Wang worked with pastel and pearl-like hues.
In addition to completing their own pieces, volunteers were available to demonstrate techniques and provide participants with ideas for patterning and knotting. The event allowed individuals of all ages to enjoy the calming process of stringing beads, while also promoting independence and personal artistic identity.
