On July 26th, 2026, the AYLUS Foundation held our fourth Arts & Crafts Workshop, where volunteers continued crocheting items to donate to hospitals, homeless shelters, and other community organizations. To accommodate participants with different experience levels and interests, the workshop was divided into two groups, allowing everyone to work on a project that best matched their skills.
One group, led by Jasmine Wang, learned how to crochet the mini octopus. She guided participants through the pattern step by step, helping beginners practice the fundamental stitches while creating a meaningful handmade donation. At the same time, Emma Wei led the second group, teaching participants how to crochet a drawstring bag. She demonstrated each stage of the project, answered questions, and provided individual assistance throughout the workshop.
Splitting into two groups made the workshop especially productive, as everyone received more personalized instruction and was able to make steady progress on their projects. Volunteers worked together, shared tips, and encouraged one another, creating a collaborative and welcoming environment.
Overall, the fourth workshop was a very productive session that allowed participants to strengthen their crochet skills while creating handmade items for those in need. We are excited to continue expanding our projects and making even more donations at future workshops.
