On July 28th from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, AYLUS volunteers helped out at the 2026 Town of North Hempstead’s Dragon Boat Festival in partnership with the Ohana Paddling Association.
Set up for the event went from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, where AYLUS volunteers helped vendors set up their stands for the racers. Specifically, the AYLUS Dix Hills volunteers helped out the Aerolux Media booth, the official media sponsors of the event. Set up included unboxing prizes for kids, managing equipment, and greeting incoming racers for their competitions.
As spectators started coming in at around 9:00 am, volunteers helped distribute prizes to incoming families. In order to win a prize, families needed to spin a wheel with various levels of prizes. AYLUS volunteers kept a close eye on inventory and made adjustments as necessary so everyone could get a prize. Next to the booth spectators could enjoy live drone coverage offered by Aerolux Media.
Finally lunch break came around 12:30 pm, where AYLUS volunteers helped manage the stand and clean up in preparation for the afternoon run. Thanks to the support of AYLUS volunteers, the booths were run in an efficient and timely manner, making the experience for families and racers fun and enjoyable.
