Murrieta AYLUS Lends a Hand to The Little Garden of Hope Project (#121) (05/09/2026)

Reported by Audrey Hsieh

On May 9, 2026, AYLUS Murrieta members worked in the garden at Jacob’s House.

While checking on the plants, we were excited to find two bright red strawberries ready to be picked. It was a special moment because the strawberries are often eaten by animals before they have a chance to ripen. We also harvested all of the lettuce and shared it with the residents of Jacob’s House, hoping they would enjoy the fresh vegetables grown in the garden.

Members also repaired a damaged section of the fence so the protective netting around the plants would have proper support. We rearranged the eggplant plants that were planted few wks back, giving them more space to grow. Members are eager to see the garden enter its peak harvest season in the coming weeks.
