Murrieta AYLUS Supports NAMI youth Symposium #2 (05/02/2026)

On May 2, 2026, AYLUS Murrieta members supported the NAMI Youth Symposium at a local hospital. The first symposium, held in January 2026, was such a successful event that NAMI decided to organize another one just a few months later to reach and support more teens in the community.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness through education, advocacy, support, and public awareness programs. The NAMI Youth Symposium aims to provide teens and their families with valuable mental health resources, coping strategies, and opportunities to connect with supportive community organizations.

Members arrived early to help with event setup before attendees arrived. They helped arrange tables, prepare goodie bags filled with flyers, pens, stress balls, and other materials, organize food and refreshments, and set up booths for participating organizations, distribute the goodie bag and t-shirt to each participant.

During the event, members also had the opportunity to enjoy and learn from activities offered by sponsor vendors, including yoga sessions and bingo games designed to promote mental wellness. These programs provided meaningful resources and support for mental health awareness while creating a fun and engaging experience for participants. Members were invited to return and help with the 3rd Youth Symposium which is planned for the near future.
