AYLUS Basking Ridge volunteered at Bernards PEC program on 4/25/26

The Bernards PEC Program runs every Saturday morning from 9–11 a.m. in April and May. It’s more than a program—it’s a place where students come together to support peers with special needs, sharing patience, encouragement, and friendship. Today, volunteers helped set up the games, guided children through a lively ball-throwing activity, and joined in a running and tagging game, cheering them on and celebrating each small victory. As the morning went on, laughter and excitement filled the room, and volunteers took the time to encourage every child, making sure everyone felt included and proud of their efforts.

The real impact of PEC goes far beyond the games. Parents stopped to thank the volunteers, sharing how much their patience, kindness, and genuine care meant to their children. Children left with beaming smiles and newfound confidence, while volunteers walked away with a sense of fulfillment, knowing they had made a difference in someone’s day. The shared moments of joy, connection, and encouragement create a warm, supportive community where everyone feels seen, valued, and inspired—a place where small acts of kindness leave a lasting impression on both volunteers and students alike.
