Greater Princeton AYLUS Supports Lunar New Year Events (11th) in February 2024

In February, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) supported multiple events celebrating the Lunar New Year throughout the State of New Jersey.

Lunar New Year is the beginning of the new year based on the lunar calendar or lunisolar calendar. The lunar calendars follow the lunar phase while lunisolar calendars follow both the lunar phase and the time of the solar year. Many cultures celebrate the event in various ways at diverse dates.

GPA members joined in creating an unforgettable experience for young minds during the celebrations, planning and preparing, then leading, organizing, and facilitating many classic craft projects and games.

GPA Volunteers (Secaucus, Millburn, Princeton, Montgomery, and West Windsor Community events) worked at Kid’s craft and games: Aiden Jia (2/6, 3 hrs; 2/7, 5 hrs), Xintong Si (2/9, 5 hrs), Ruth Rui (2/6, 3 hrs; 2/7, 5 hrs; 2/9, 5 hrs), Yolanda Zhang (2/10, 1 hr), Martin Zhao (2/10, 3.5 hrs), Owen Zhao (2/10, 1 hr), Michael Yang (2/10, 2.5 hrs), Jonathan Yang (2/10, 2.5 hrs), Sara Yu (2/10, 2.5 hrs)
