On January 12th, 2024, AYLUS Great Neck Branch organized its weekly event which offered an opportunity for special needs children to engage in a variety of physical activities. This marks the 9th time that the event has held since it’s start in the tail end of September. Today, we mostly played tag around the park, with baseball, soccer and ping pong also in the mix. The four children who participated fared well with our four branch members and had fun while getting a good amount of exercise. On top of that, the kids worked on important mental skills such as sharing and teamwork. We plan on doing more with this event in 2024, and today is the first of many more to come. Overall, today’s experience was very enjoyable, and I’m delighted that we had the opportunity to organize it.
