AYLUS Syosset sets up its own stand at the Syosset Street Fair, 11/12/23

On Sunday 11/12, members of AYLUS Syosset planned and got together to set up our own stand at the Long Island Street fair at Syosset train station. It was originally supposed to be in October, however it was postponed to November due to the weather. Since late August, AYLUS Syosset members have worked together to plan what to make and sell for the fair. Thea Chen, Alyssa Huang, Sophia Liu and Rachel Zhang planned to make bracelets, keychains and plushies to sell. Members made up to fifty bracelets/keychains in the months leading up to November. Thea Chen contributed by bringing a cotton candy machine which gained a lot of attraction during the fair. Sarah Chen brought face-paint and stencils to give kids painted patterns on their skin. Nichole Huang also brought a variety of pre-brought jewelry items such as necklaces, hair pins and earrings to sell as well. Lastly, for the past two months, Xuanyu Liu and other members worked together to learn how to make balloon animals, flowers and swords to sell to kids. Rachel Zhang Rayya Zheng and other members were in charge of making the cotton candy and members helped to hand them out.

Alyssa Huang brought the tables and designed the fundraiser poster and AYLUS brochures, Sonia Huang brought the tent and Thea Chen brought the sign holders for the AYLUS banners. At the end of the fair, members helped to pick up the waste and also packed up the tables and tents.
