On April 15th, 2023, 15 members of AYLUS RC Branch participated in the food bank volunteer event for the month of April. As a result of our outstanding performance in previous events, we were given more slots, and our efforts inspired more new members to join us in these meaningful volunteer activities. Our branch’s task for this event was to package all the food that needed to be distributed. The experienced members worked alongside the new members at each packaging station to complete the day’s tasks. The amount of food distributed was enormous, with vehicles arriving every few minutes for five hours to collect food. Consequently, we had to stand throughout the five-hour duration of the event to complete all the packaging tasks. This volunteer activity is not suitable for younger volunteers as there is often heavy lifting involved.
Despite the physical demands of the event, the members enjoyed participating and looked forward to the next week’s event. As we worked side by side with new members, we were able to impart the values of teamwork, perseverance, and dedication. The experience of helping people in need and making a difference in the community was fulfilling and rewarding. It gave us a sense of pride and satisfaction that we were able to contribute to the betterment of society.
Our active involvement in such events is a testament to our commitment to community service and helping those in need. It is also an opportunity for our members to build and strengthen their skills, such as leadership, communication, and teamwork. We hope to continue our involvement in future events and encourage more members of the community to join us in this noble cause. Overall, the food bank volunteer event was a resounding success, and we look forward to participating in more events that will make a difference in the community.
