AYLUS Roslyn Helps Out at a School of CCA of Long Island (8th) on December 11, 2022

On Sunday from 1:30pm to 5:00pm, the Roslyn AYLUS branch cooperate with teachers from Chinese Cultural Association of Long Island.

Students are assigned to different groups to help teachers so that they can better cooperate with teachers to complete teaching tasks. As second language learners, it is easy for students to forget their new knowledge. Therefore, ALYUS volunteers one-on-one mentored them to better understand and practicing knowledge. Students relied heavily on the help of teaching assistants from the beginning after helping they can complete their homework independently. ALYUS helped them understand the cultures of different countries and encourage them when they face difficulties. This made students feel more mastery of Chinese.

In the art class, we stunned the traditional cultures of different countries. We first helped them sort out the tools they need to use, such as brushes or scissors. During the practice process, they faced some problems, such as the brush needs to be rewashed. Volunteers are willing to help them and lead them to the bathroom to clean brushes and complete all the work carefully.

Members who participated include:

Tiffany Lin (3.5 hours), I-Han Liao (3.5 hours), Fanxi Xia (3.5 hours), Zihan Wang (3.5 hours), Ethan Lin (3.5 hours), Ryan Lin (3.5 hours)
