Murrieta AYLUS Hosts a Recycling Event to Help Rescued Animals (3rd) (10/29/2022)

Reported by Jessica Lu

On October 29, 2022, members Hsin Chen (Julie) Lu, Adora Xiao, KaiXi (Cathy) Liu, and Jessica Lu went to recycle the bottles they’d collected at a local recycling center. All proceeds will go towards Animal Friends of the Valley, a local animal shelter, to help rescue animals.

After a couple of weeks of collecting recyclables, members had a truckload of bottles/cans ready to recycle. After unloading all the bags and boxes from the truck, the members began to sort all the recyclables by plastic bottles, cans, and glass bottles into their own respectable bins. It took a while since there were so many bags but members worked hard and soon got it all done.

Members made a total of $60.25 from recycling and can’t wait to go visit the animal shelter soon!

Volunteers:
Hsin Chen (Julie) Lu / Adora Xiao / Kaixi(Cathy) Liu / Jessica Lu (1.5 hour each)
