Chapel Hill Branch Participates in Booker Creek Trail Forest Restoration Project 2 on Oct 23, 2021

On October 23rd, 2021, our AYLUS Chapel Hill Branch helped remove invasive trees at Booker Creek Trail in an effort to help the forest restoration project. Our goal was to help remove Privet, a tree that’s hard to control and quickly reproduces. Our group was stationed in the middle of the trail full of thorns, but with hard work, we managed to cut them down and uncover many Privets hiding. We even found a way to cross a creek to rid as many Privets as we could. The event lasted from 10 am-12:30 pm and in that time we were able to exterminate numerous amounts of trees. Our Chapel Hill Branch will continue supporting our community. Let’s keep up the good work, go AYLUS!

The volunteers that participated in this event were: Kevin Chen (2.5 hours), Luna Chen (2.5 hours), Andrew Xu (2.5 hours), Michelle Lan (2.5 hours), Alyssa Yuan (1 hour ), Jack Xu (2.5 hours), Nicholas Wang (2.5 hours), Ethan Li (2.5 hours), Jack Lu (2.5 hours) and Kathryne Hong (2.5 hours).
