Greater Princeton AYLUS Honors Firefighter Heroes (3rd) in Princeton Marking the 20th Anniversary of 9/11

The 20th anniversary of 9/11 is coming. The terrorist attacks killed 2,977 people and injured thousands at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Americans host commemorative events at all three sites on the anniversary of the attacks.

Firefighters and their families sacrifice a lot to save lives, who deserve our honor and respect, especially at this memorial moment. In September, the Greater Princeton branch of AYLUS (GPA) continued an event called “Meals from the Heart”. GPA members honor our firefighter heroes in our community in our unique way.

On September 3rd, GPA members Steven Li (6 hrs) and President Cassie Wang (1 hr) organized a “Meals from the Heart” event for local firefighters. More GPA members, including Ruofei Mao (9/3, 1 hr), Sophia Song (9/3, 1 hr), Pearl Song (9/3, 1 hr), Bowen Hou (9/3, 1 hr), Zhihan Zhang (9/3, 2 hrs), Ziqi Zhang (9/3, 1 hr), Ethan Che (9/3, 1 hr), and Celina Xie (9/3, 1 hr) joined the organizers for this event, hand delivering the taco lunch meals to the Princeton Volunteer Firefighters (363 Witherspoon Street, Princeton, NJ).

GPA member Zhihan Zhang (9/1, 3 hrs) raised funds for donated food items.

More donation events are coming in September throughout the state of New Jersey!
