Greater Princeton AYLUS Honors Firefighter Heroes (2nd) in Monmouth Junction with Meals from the Heart before the 20th Anniversary of 9/11

The 20th anniversary of 9/11 is coming. The terrorist attacks killed 2,977 people and injured thousands at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Americans host commemorative events at all three sites on the anniversary of the attacks.

Firefighters and their families sacrifice a lot to save lives, who deserve our honor and respect, especially at this memorial moment. In August, the Greater Princeton branch of AYLUS (GPA) started an event called “Meals from the Heart”. GPA members honor our firefighter heroes in our community in our unique way.

On August 24th, GPA members Melanie Chen (2 hrs) and Winnie Chen (2 hrs) led a “Meal from the Heart” event for local firefighters in South Brunswick Township. GPA members, including Xinyi Christine Zhang (1 hr), Helen Tung (1 hr), Nicole Liu (1 hr), and Steven Li (2 hrs), joined the two leaders for the event, hand delivering the delicious food and drinks to the Monmouth Junction Volunteer Firefighters at 573 Ridge Road, Monmouth Jct., NJ 08852.
