Greater Princeton AYLUS Continues Math Tutoring for Kids (71st) in June 2021

In June 2021, student members of the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) teamed up and continued teaching kids in the subjects of math.

GPA members Karen Yang (6/6, 2 hrs) and Kevin Song (6/6, 3 hrs): This week we continued our Algebra content! First, we answered a warm up question and dove right into our content: graphing. We used Desmos to help students figure out the slope of the line and then began plotting points. We also used the slope formula and the distance formula to help students figure out the visual looks of the line. We also compared the slopes of two different lines to understand how the lines differ. We’ll be having class next week!

GPA member Annie Miao: This week, Annie and her tutee finished up equations with absolute value bars and transitioned into learning how to graph absolute value functions. Her tutee had an introduction to different terminologies related to transformations and was introduced to how to use them based on the parent function.
