On April 17th, 2021, Greater Princeton AYLUS Regional Development Minister Anthony F Yang held a career development seminar focusing on the Pharmaceutical Industry.
This is the second seminar of the Career Development Series, featuring speaker Dr. Wang Wenyan, currently a Senior Clinical Development Director at Novartis Pharmaceuticals. This series of professional development lectures introduces the requirements and industry overview of different occupations to high school students, helping them choose the direction they would like to take in the future.
Throughout the seminar Dr. Wang and Anthony discussed important details such as the determination, communication skills, and majors that are needed to succeed in the Pharmaceutical Industry. She also speaks about the qualities and educational experience one should have to get into this industry.
Dr. Wang has over twenty years of global pharmaceutical industry experience. She is currently leading Phase II/III clinical strategy in areas of heart failure, hypertension, and rare renal diseases. She was a key contributor to successful Entresto submission & market authorization. Wenyan completed her postdoctoral training in heart development at Columbia University. She received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Iowa State University.
