Greater Princeton AYLUS Continues Bilingual Tutoring Program (30th) in January 2021

The Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) students continue their Bilingual Tutoring Program in January. The program allows GPA members to provide reading, writing, speaking, math, and communication to their students across the country.

They had conversations over various video calling platforms, such as Zoom or Facetime, with students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Their bilingual tutoring activities included:

GPA member Catherine Feng spent 2 hours managing this tutoring program on 1/24. Catherine Feng taught her student Brandon English and Math for 1 hour on Sunday, 1/24, from 5:00 – 6:00 pm. 

Elizabeth Jia prepared her lesson and taught her students English through reading comprehension for two hours on Saturday, 1/23.

Feiying Qian and Siquan Qiu teamed up to teach their student English through conversations for 2 hours on Saturday, 1/23, from 1:00-3:00 pm.  

Ryan Tian tutored for 2 hours each on Fridays, 1/8 and 1/15, from 4:15 to 6:15 pm, teaching two kids English and Math. He tutored two different kids on Saturdays, 1/9 and 1/16, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, on Math and English.  

Siquan Qiu tutored her student for 23 minutes on Saturday, 12/12, from 3:45 to 4:08 pm. She also tutored for 18 minutes on Monday, 12/14, from 10:38 to 10:56 am. On Monday, 1/18, Siquan tutored her student for one hour, from 1:09-2:09, focusing on Chinese and English reading comprehension, and discussion. Siquan also tutored her student in reading comprehension for 30 minutes on Friday, 1/22, from 3:47 to 4:17 pm.

Ruofei Olivia Mao tutored her student focusing on reading comprehension and learning about MLK Day.

GPA member Abigail Bao (1/22, 2 hrs; 1/24, 2 hrs) also taught her students in the subjects of English reading and writing, focusing on story-telling.
