Fairfax Branch – Lake Fairfax Park Watershed Clean-Up Day

On November 1st, 2020, the AYLUS Fairfax branch collected trash and litter from the cricket field and campgrounds of Lake Fairfax Park.

Lake Fairfax Park is comprised of 476 acres of land. Much of this land is used for recreational purposes: picnic areas, athletic fields, hiking trails, skate parks, and a water park. As a result, Lake Fairfax Park experiences a large influx of visitors every day, which leads to a lot of littering. This causes harm to the park’s wildlife and sustainability, which is why it is important to regularly clean the park.

To preserve the park’s health, members of the Fairfax AYLUS branch scoured the cricket field and campgrounds of the park and placed any trash found into trash bags using plastic grabbers. The trash bags were disposed of in nearby trashcans.

Thanks to all the members who participated: Andy Cao, David Cao, Mohan Liu, Ray Hu, Steven Guo, Albert Wei, Anthony Wang, Charles Hu, Jordan Lee
