Greater Princeton AYLUS Teamed up to Tutor Kids Math (39th) Second Week in October 2020

During the second week in October 2020, student members of the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) teamed up and continued teaching kids in the subjects of math.
GPA members Karen Yang, Kevin Song, Kathy Yang (10/11, 1.5 hrs): This week we continued to learn our Pre Algebra content- we continued with geometry! We first went over some problems about rectangles, squares and rhombuses/diamonds, including what their definition and relationships were to each other. This included questions of “is the square a rhombus? Is the rhombus a square?” Next, we continued by introducing trapezoids and also learning about parallelograms! We also solved problems on finding their perimeters and areas with different formulas and tactics. Then, we assigned homework for the next class. We’ll be having class next Sunday!
GPA member Annie Miao (10/10, 2 hrs; 10/11, 2 hrs): This week, Annie tutored two kids in math with LEAF Learning through Zoom. One of her students, who is in 7th grade, had a review for an upcoming quiz about linear equations, while the other student, who is in 5th grade, learned how to find volume and surface area of different 3D shapes.
