In September 2020, the Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) created a new tutoring program: Sound of Music for Kids!
GPA members Joyce Li and Edward Li have been taking private vocal lessons for six years. Joyce just won Platinum awards in the “My Great Stage–Season 6–Singing category”. To serve others with their singing skills, Joyce and Edward volunteer as a teaching assistant for kids’ singing class this fall.
For the past three Saturdays (9/19, 9/26, 10/3; 1 hour for each class), Joyce and Edward worked as teaching assistants for teacher Michelle Zhong, leading a class of 7 kids. They helped lead the students in stretches, warm up, and a piece of music. Yesterday, kids started their first song “Do Re Mi”. This is also the first time that Joyce and Edward work with young kids. They are very excited and proud that they can do something for the community!
