AYLUS Manhasset Branch hosts Virtual Tour Art Studio

On September 6, 2020, Members of the Manhasset AYLUS branch and community joined a virtual art studio organized by Matthew Yang, Gavin Cao, and Loretta Yimin Liu in a zoom session with world-renowned artist Cao Jun. At 4 PM, we let all people in the waiting room join and let people in as the meeting progressed. Members Matthew Yang, Gavin Cao, and Loretta Yimin Liu shared with the audience lessons about different brushes and showed us his various artworks. We explored the various colors and shades you can manipulate the ink used to make these artworks. By increasingly mixing ink with water, you make it more distilled. Therefore, it becomes lighter, and more grey the more water you add to it. However, it also tends to be more watery. By going over the artist’s many different paintings,  we gained an idea of what it takes to create.  After the meeting, AYLUS members hosted a Q and A session and answered any questions that arose.

Members also went to the Nassau county museum to take our first picture with all founding members present.
