Greater Princeton AYLUS Continued Save A Life Event (8th) Donating Protective Equipment to COVID Response Teams Voluntarily Going to New York on April 16, 2020

On April 16, 2020, the Greater Princeton branch of AYLUS (GPA) received mask donations from one of GPA members, Steven Li. Steven brought in 150 N95 and 100 KN95 face masks to GPA Save A Life Foundation. Also, GPA Save A Life received a donation of 100 KN95 face masks, 6 protective goggles from West Windsor community members, May Zhou and Hua Li. Thank you, everyone, for your generous donations!

GPA contacted Ashley Selby, a nurse who voluntarily joined a COVID Response Team and arrived in New York from Texas. Ashly is helping in the New York University Winthrop Hospital, a Long Island Base of New York University Langone Health System. Ashley has a roommate nurse working with her. Both are treating COVID-19 positive patients day and night, but have very limited access to protective equipment in the meantime. GPA also contacted Lisa Willingham, a nurse who works in an extended care facility that is testing positive, watched a patient die on Sunday. They gave her 1 mask to use for the foreseeable future!

GPA donated above medical protective equipment, along with 2500 disinfective wipes, to the New York University Winthrop Hospital through Michelle Burgess, a Princeton residence and relative of both Ashley and Lisa. GPA wanted all physicians and anesthesiologists better protected while trying to save countless lives during this emergency. We appreciate great support of the NY/NJ Chinese American Communities. With all efforts put together, we can surely get over this crisis soon.

Save A Life, Go AYLUS!

Participants: Steven Li (4 hours), Annie Li, Michelle Burgess, Ashley Selby, Lisa Willingham, Cassie Tammy Wang.
