Greater Princeton AYLUS Humanitarian Care Team Volunteered (3rd) at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home on December 22, 2019

On December 22nd, 2019, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) Humanitarian Care Team went to New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home to conduct volunteering project.

It is the winter recess. GPA Team members went to the Memorial Home with Merry Christmas and Happy New Year cards and gifts to the veterans. They walked around the four wings of the residents’ room and TV room, expressing Christmas and New Year greetings to the senior, opening gifts with them and reading the words of blessing on the card. The seniors had a great time with volunteers’ love and care. They expressed gratitude to volunteers’ dedication, talked with the youth about their stories and views. Then GPA members transported the seniors to the town square, attending the music party “MUSIC: Senior Moments”. To the rhythm of music, they swung the arms with the seniors and danced together. Finally, GPA members transported the seniors back, respectively. The volunteers felt happy for the serving starting of the winter recess.
