Greater Princeton AYLUS Teaching Montgomery Community Board Game Go (4th) on December 7, 2019

Reported by Fengqi Wen

On December 7, 2019, for two hours, student members of the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA), Fengqi Wen and Mingjie Liu, helped kids from Montgomery learn the board game Go, or Weiqi.

The class was one and a half hours and Fengqi and Mingjie started preparing for materials around 5:30 pm. Then between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm, they taught the kids fundamental rules and nouns of Go. The 5 kids are in kindergarten, and being taught how to play Go, they were very happy.

Some homework was assigned for the kids to review what they learned in the class. The teachers were glad that the kids were happy and interactive during class and they were happy that their skills in Go can help others.
