East Cobb Branch ‘Give A Hand’— Eastside Elementary Fall Festival on Oct.18, 2019

On October 18, 2019, Iris Liu and Nicholas Vincent volunteered at East Side Elementary School’s Fall Festival. The Fall Festival held at East Side Elementary is an annual festival held to let kids enjoy many different activities such as ride carousels enjoy snacks and drinks, and make cool toys. The event is very popular, and to help keep the event running smoothly and orderly, volunteers ranging from older kids to adults come to the festival. When arriving to help volunteer, adult volunteers greeted the adolescent volunteers with sheer care and compassion. The adult volunteers were very kind-hearted when explaining the event to the other volunteers and teaching the kid volunteers how to execute their jobs to the best of their abilities to help the event run as smoothly as possible.

Iris helped at the ticket and wristband sales table from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. She also helped the parent volunteers distribute wristbands and tickets to the parents and children that were participating in the event. Nick took on the task of signing the adolescent and adult volunteers in and out, as well as directing the volunteers to their designated stations. Passionately taking on the much tedious task of signing people in and out, Nicholas Vincent volunteered from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Seeing the joy on all the kids’ faces made every second volunteering worthwhile.

Attendance: Iris Liu (1hour), Nicholas  Vincent(2hours)
