The Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) “Humanitarian Care” team worked at the Cornerstone Community Kitchen in Princeton (PCCK) on September 3 and 4, 2019. The kitchen helps by serving underprivileged people dinner once a week in the Princeton area. It also provides a free clothing/accessory store, health screenings, and a kids’ play area.

On Tuesday, September 3 (4 pm – 6 pm), the GPA team helped to set up the dinner tables for 2 hours by putting table-clothes and centerpieces on them. They also set up the kids’ play area with fun toys and inviting games. Furthermore, the team brought a few items to donate to the clothing store.

On Wednesday, September 4 (4:40 pm – 6:40 pm), the GPA team worked in the kitchen and the dining area for a total of 2 hours with other volunteers. For dinner, the kitchen served spaghetti, meatballs, fresh fruit salad, cookies, and bread. When people finished, the team helped to clear the dishes and send them to be cleaned.

This was the last time for the GPA team to be able to serve the kitchen before the 2019-2020 school year started. Through the summer, they worked in the kitchen for more than a dozen times and helped hundreds of adults and children. Everyone was grateful to have this opportunity to serve the community and help the neighbors.
