Greater Princeton AYLUS “Community Service” Team Hosted a “Farm Produce Donation” Event (6th) for the Blockchain Summer Project in Princeton on August 17, 2019

On August 17, 2019, Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) “Community Service” Team hosted a “Farm Produce Donation” event at the LaoZhu Farm (1607 Great Road, Skillman, NJ 08558) near Princeton. This is the 6th event of the Blockchain Summer Project. 

Blockchain Princeton (BCP) and Ledger Academy are encouraging donations for local residence with Food Insecurity. GPA members volunteered by helping the farmers with picking edamame, packing bags of produce (bittermelon, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and chives etc), weighing them and more. Farm produce filled bags from the event were dropped off at the TigerLabs temporarily for truck delivery to the NJ FoodBank on August 25th, 2019. 

Event Participants: Richard Wang, Samuel Xiangcheng Ying, Jennifer Wang, Karen Yang, Yugong Ismay Wang, Kathie Wang, Evan Lin, Amy Lin, and Cassie Tammy Wang.

Date & Time: August 17, 2019, from 7:30 am to 10:30 pm (3 hours).  

On the same day, Abigail Bao and Angela Bao went to the West Windsor Farmers’ Market, collecting a lot of produce for donation (3 hours).
