Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) promotes building a strong leadership in and out of school. More students in the area became aware of the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States (AYLUS), and wanted to join GPA to better serve the community!

Cathy Li is currently a junior in West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North. She had the honor of being elected both “Spirit Leader” and “Director of Fun” for the 2018-2019 fall and spring seasons for her “Ultimate Frisbee Team”. On March 16th, 2019, Cathy organized the Ultimate Frisbee Team bonding event on 3/16/2019 (6-10pm, 4 hours).

Cathy Li has been volunteering as a leader in the Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP) for more than two years. On March 1st (6:00-7:30 pm, 1.5 hours), March 22nd (6:00-7:30 pm, 1.5 hours), then March 23rd (1:00-5:00 pm, 4 hours), Cathy present different topics about public speaking, which includes adding humor into the speeches, adding voice variation, adding purposeful body language, etc., in addition, she offered individual one-on-one advice to students.

Cathy Li has been volunteering as an editor of the newspaper Plainsboro Chinese School (PCS) Voices for more than a year. Her role is to organize the order of the articles submitted by students of all grades so that it fits into one page. The position also requires Cathy to add pictures as a visual representation of what the authors are trying to convey as well as making the page look as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Currently, being the Associate Editor of PCS Voices, which apparently requires more responsibility, she has to make sure that sentence structure in the articles runs smoothly, no grammatical errors, and the editors do not make mistakes. On March 10th, 2019, Cathy spent 2 hours to edit the 228th issue of PCS Voices for its publication.
