Greater Princeton AYLUS Member Cathy Li Helped YLDP Students Build Leadership and Promoted Culture in February 2019

Reported by Cassie Tammy Wang

Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA), NJ Branch member Cathy Li has been volunteering as a leader in the Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP) for more than two years. She has a lot of responsibilities.

Recently, Cathy served on 2/2/2019, Saturday afternoon, 2-4 pm, and gave a leadership training to the students in YLDP (2 hours).

Besides being a role model for my students, Cathy Li is a leader for the youth leaders-in-training that also volunteer on Fridays. Dates she served are: 2/1/2019, Friday evening 6:00 pm-7:30 pm, Cathy Li gave a 1.5-hour public speaking training, presenting body language to the students in YLDP; 2/15/2019, Friday evening 6:00 pm-7:30 pm, Cathy gave a 1.5 hour volunteering service as Youth leader of the public speech for YLDP; and 2/22/2019, Friday evening 6:00 pm-7:30 pm, Cathy gave another 1.5 hour volunteering service as Youth leader of the public speech for YLDP.

As for the “Culture Promotion” project, Cathy Li has been volunteering as an editor of the newspaper Plainsboro Chinese School (PCS) Voices for more than a year. Currently, being the Associate Editor of PCS Voices, which apparently requires more responsibility, Cathy has to make sure that sentence structure in the articles runs smoothly, no grammatical errors, and the editors do not make mistakes. Dates Cathy Li served as Editor of PCS Voices are: January 27th (2 hours), February 24th, 2019 (2 hours).
