East Cobb Members Participated Summer Lunch Program IX

On July 25th, 2018, three members from East Cobb Branch of AYLUS spent two hours serving lunches to kids at Garden Terrace for the YMCA Summer Lunch Outreach Program.  The goal of this program is to provide meals for local kids who would go without lunch once school is out. The volunteers would pack and serve lunches. Then they would talk and play with the kids.

The lunches consisted of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, applesauce, milk, and some veggies. There were many mosquitos there, but thankfully, the weather wasn’t hot. There weren’t many kids who showed up, but the YMCA staff member said he would drop off remaining lunches for a neighbor, so the neighbor could continue handing out food to needy families.

Our members enjoy helping the community through this program.

The members who participated were: Susanna Huang (2 hours), Diane Chen (2 hours) and Selina Huang (2 hours)
