East Cobb Members Participated Summer Lunch Program

May 29&30, 2018, East Cobb members spent 2 hours to participate at the YMCA Summer Lunch Outreach Program I.

The program set up a goal to serve over 300 children each weekday of summer break, and it needs a lot of volunteers to help deliver and serve lunches to local kids. Those children may not have a healthy meal when school is out. The program also inspires volunteers to communicate with the children, East Cobb branch will send members to the program each week.

On humid and hot days, our students participated in the whole process of the program with packing well-balanced, child-friendly meals, and drinks into a lunch bag, and delivering them to those children. Afterwards, our students performed pop dances and talked to them.

The student greatly enjoyed the program. By helping the children, the students became more connected to the children and wanted to continue helping the children. This has helped everyone make new friends.

The members who participated were Raymond Jiang(2 hours), Cynthia Ruan(2 hours), Jonathan Wang(2 hours), Maxwell Jiang(2 hours), Diane Chen(2 hours), and Isabel Zhou(2 hours).
