Murrieta AYLUS Helps STAT Horse Sanctuary (10th) (3/18/23)

Reported by Jessica Lu

On March 18th, 2023, Murrieta members went to STAT Horse Sanctuary to help out. There was going to be a party held at the sanctuary right before the afternoon so members started to help get ready. They went to the goat pens and scooped up waste and dirty hay. When the barrel was full, one of the members would go and dump it out. In the middle of cleaning up, members had to start decorating so half the members went to go decorate and the other half stayed to finish cleaning up. Members brought tinsel garlands, shamrock decorations, and tape. Members began the process by taking off the clear boards that covered the main board and started to take out the decorations and put them where they thought were appropriate. After finishing decorating, members got paper towels and cleaning spray to clean the clear boards. When they finished, the board looked great and glittery! Next, members went to go scoop llama poop. They met Jeremiah, the llama who was enjoying the sun. As usual, when the wheelbarrow was full, one of the members would go dump it out. Then, members went to go find the owner of the sanctuary and presented her with a check for $100 to support the sanctuary. The last thing members did was help one of the people who set up a bouncy house booth take out the houses and inflate them. The inflatables were really heavy but with everybody pitching in, they got it up and inflated in no time. After, members set up 2 tents for the booth. Members had lots of fun helping set up the party and can’t wait for their next visit!
