Frisco & Plano Branch Sorting 1000+ donated K-6 books for 4th African Library Project on April 20th 2024

Reported by Jenny Wang

On April 20th, 2024, African Library team members of the AYLUS Frisco-Plano branch sorted more than one thousand K-6 books into three reading levels, preK-1.2-4 and 5-6 grades.  The books will be shipped to build a community library in Ghana. Over one thousand books were carefully and individually sorted and counted. Books for children between pre-kindergarten and 6th grade were accepted. By the end of this month, thousands of books will be shipped to Ghana through the African Library Project organization.  We will optimize each box to contain the maximum amount of books under the weight limit of 35 pounds.  On top of each box, we marked the number of books, the grade level, and the total weight in pounds.
