Great Neck Branch Volunteered for special needs children (9/17/2023)

On September 17th from 9:30AM-12:00PM, our club hosted a heartwarming event at Great Neck House in collaboration with Heartik, where we had the privilege of engaging in activities with special needs children. All the members arrived a half hour earlier to set up the place. The event kicked off with a remarkable song performed by our member, Junbo, setting an enthusiastic tone for the day’s activities. Following this, Heartik treated the audience to a captivating cello performance.
Our members, Fanxi Xia, Baoyi Zeng, and Zoe Xia, then took the stage, delivering an electrifying K-POP dance performance that radiated infectious energy and had everyone excited. They generously shared their dance moves with the audience, patiently teaching simple steps after their performance.
Following this lively performance, our members Ashley and Cynthia showcased their musical talents with a harmonious flute performance, which added a soothing touch to the event. To conclude the day’s entertainment, Heartik conducted a fascinating color-mixing experiment.
In addition to these performances, Aylus Great Neck also organized a variety of activities for the special needs kids, including Lego building(by Max Zhang), drawing(by Siwen and Siyue), and face painting(by Baoyi Zeng). The children thoroughly enjoyed these engaging activities.
It was heartwarming to witness the children’s fascination with the performances and activities. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to contribute to our community, aligning with Aylus’ mission.
