Murrieta AYLUS Volunteers at Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley #12– Senior home maintenance and yard work (7/29/2023)

Reported by Jessica Lu :

On July 29th, 2023, Murrieta AYLUS members volunteered at Habitat for Humanity.
When members arrived, they were a little early so members went ahead and just got started. They pulled weeds with the weedwackers and used their hands when it was necessary. When there was a decent amount of weeds pulled out, members would use a rake to rake it aside and would dispose it later. After the group meeting ended, members were taken to a different house to help out since the earlier house had enough people helping. There, members started by putting a tarp down in the trailer, and then carried cut off palm branches into the trailer. After finishing off all the palm branches in the truck, members went into the backyard, where they carried all the cut down tree branches into the trailer. Members were careful with the branches since they had sharp thorns on it. After the trees were all trimmed down, members took rakes and raked up all the remaining loose leaves and then got a garbage bag to put all the leaves in. Then members carried the bag into the trailer, got some water, and relaxed. Members finished the job in no time and were proud of their work.
