Aylus Syosset members continue assistant in the transplantation of native plants in LINPI green house 7/22/2023

On 7/22/23, the Syosset AYLUS members volunteered at the Brentwood LINPI (Long Island Native Plants Initiative) Greenhouse. Activities such as transplanting native  plants such as purple lovegrass, mountain mint, yarrow and partridge pea plants, mixing soil with fertilizer to provide a steady soil base for the plants, and adding soil into plant trays were introduced. Labels were also made using stickers to properly format where each plant specie is located. The plants are later placed in orderly format outside.

Native Plants are ecologically beneficial (pollination, food source, shelter), and promote biodiversity, More resilient than exotic species to disease, climate.
