In collaboration with the Pearland Chinese Association (PCA), the AYLUS Pearland Branch successfully organized the 3rd Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt on April 9, 2023, at Tom Bass Park section one. The event was a fun-filled day for families and children of all ages, with various activities organized by both PCA and AYLUS.
Before the egg hunt, PCA hosted its own spring picnic. AYLUS volunteers arrived early to set up the event, building a colorful balloon arch and hanging banners of PCA and AYLUS to create an inviting atmosphere. They also helped to arrange tables and organize the food. After the picnic, volunteers cleaned up the pavilion and set up various games in the open area surrounding the pavilion. The volunteers were actively engaged in organizing jumping ropes, potato sack runs, and other games for the community kids. Moreover, they managed fundraising stations for cotton candy, balloon twisting, and face painting, which attracted many kids to line up. In addition, the AYLUS Pearland Branch sold plants to the guests, giving them a chance to bring a piece of the event home with them.
Half an hour before the start of the egg hunt, volunteers divided the egg hunt activities into two groups: one for big kids and the other for small kids. They dispersed more than two thousand eggs over the field while the kids eagerly waited at the starting line. The kids scurried about, looking for eggs to fill up their vibrant baskets, and the hunt went by quite swiftly.
Overall, the celebration brought together the Pearland Community and the AYLUS Pearland Branch to celebrate such a wonderful occasion. The event was a huge success, with families and children enjoying the various activities and bonding over the spirit of Easter. It was a great opportunity for the community to come together and create beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.
