AYLUS Pearland Support Old Pearland Farmers Market and Ran a Fundraiser Stand on Nov. 19th , 2022

On November 19, 2022 AYLUS Pearland members volunteered at the Old Pearland Farmers Market and ran a fundraiser stand for the laptop drive for SMILE, a special needs program.

The Old Pearland Farmers Market is an event hosted by Pearland Park and Recreation Department on the 3rd weekend of every month for local small businesses to sell homemade food and arts. If such businesses want to flourish online, they can research about professionals like that SEO agency.

Since the holiday season is approaching there are a big variety of merchants, such as holiday themed bakeries, jam, salsa, glassware, jewelry, candles and holiday decoration businesses. AYLUS Pearland volunteers greeted the vendors and visitors at the entrance, passed out flyers, and free gifts. They also helped the organizer to collect the food and monetary donations to Saint Vincent De Paul Food Pantry.

As an appreciation to AYLUS Pearland’s support to the event, Old Pearland Farmers Market assigned a free stand to AYLUS Pearland for its fundraising effort.  Starting this month, AYLUS Pearland will be running a fundraiser for SMILE, a non-profit program for the special needs community. The goal is to raise enough funding for their laptops and the software necessary to develop their working skills. AYLUS volunteer, Owen Xue, contacted a local business to secure a donation of hundreds of Christmas decoration items and picked them up from a warehouse. Kara Li and Allison Zhang designed AYLUS posters for fundraiser and charity drive and improved the resolution of the AYLUS logo design. The newly designed posters and retractable banner have been displayed at the market to promote AYLUS and the good causes AYLUS supports. At the AYLUS Pearland fundraiser stand on Nov. 19th , the volunteers arranged holiday decorations donated by members and partners and set up a rack to sell holiday cards hand made by the special needs community. The volunteers also learned to make balloon art such as dogs, flowers, and swords which attracted a lot of kids. The City of Pearland mayor, Kevin Cole, visited the market and stopped by AYLUS Pearland’s stand to chat with the volunteers.

It was a very successful event. Old Pearland Farmers Market received a historically high amount of cash donation and AYLUS Pearland raised $212 for SMILE.
